COROS has introduced the $449 PACE 4 Pro, a multisport GPS watch that moves the line toward more premium hardware. The company lists a 1.47-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass, a titanium bezel, a 43-gram body and up to 60 hours of GPS battery life in its standard high-GPS mode.
The PACE 4 Pro adds dual-frequency GPS, offline maps with turn-by-turn navigation, a built-in speaker and microphone, and 32GB of storage for music and maps. COROS says its maximum-accuracy dual-frequency mode is rated for up to 45 hours, while ordinary daily use is rated at 21 days. Battery results will vary with navigation, display settings, music and other features.
A more expensive Pace
At $449, the Pro is positioned above the standard PACE 4 and pairs the running-focused line with dedicated modes for cycling, swimming, triathlon and other sports. It can connect over Bluetooth to heart-rate monitors, cycling power meters, cadence and speed sensors, and the company's POD 2 running-dynamics accessory.
The headline feature is not just the brighter display. COROS is bundling hardware that makes maps and navigation more practical for long training sessions, while retaining the lightweight design that has been central to the Pace range. The company says the watch is available now, but buyers should distinguish listed specifications from independent testing, especially on GPS and battery claims.
