Google Translate may add Live Translate auto-save on phones while disabling transcripts on smart glasses

Google Translate may be preparing an “Auto-save transcript” option for Live Translate on phones, while taking a more restrictive approach on smart glasses. Android Authority reports that version 10.37.74.985146169 includes a Live Translate setting that would automatically save transcripts at the end of a session, along with code strings indicating transcript saving would be disabled while glasses are in use for privacy. The same teardown also points to glasses controls that could let users start translation with a voice command and end it with a swipe on the frame touchpad. Because the details come from an APK teardown of unreleased code, there’s no guarantee the features will ship publicly.
