As I was linking to the chapters of Primer: https://bayes.cs.ucla.edu/PRIMER/, I took a glance and re-read some of them. It was a glance worth taking, try it. I don't know where else you can get a clearer treatment of counterfactual reasoning and other debatable puzzles.
