Apple Intelligence reportedly approved in China; test version due later in October 2026

Reuters, citing The Paper’s interview with Tim Cook, reports that Cook said Apple Intelligence had been approved in China and a test version was due later in October 2026. Cook told The Paper it would include live translation, writing tools and image clean-up, but not Siri AI. Reuters previously reported that Apple developed a China-specific AI model with Alibaba’s support.
