They restored sight to the blind. How beautiful and what an profound accomplishment by @maxhodak_ and team. Max and I started working on brain interfaces around time ten yrs ago. What they did is incredibly difficult. We are lucky to have them doing this hard, important work.
Today marks the European launch of PRIMA, the first and only treatment to be commercially available that restores functional central vision to patients with geographic atrophy caused by dry age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness. The first European commercial implant of PRIMA is expected soon.
