Google’s AI Mode gave indirect answers about who won the 2020 election in US tests

Ars Technica reports that Google’s AI Mode initially directed a question about the 2020 presidential election winner to the Federal Election Commission instead of naming Joe Biden. Its VPN tests abroad drew direct answers, and repeating the question also worked. Fast Company found similarly evasive answers in the US. Google said the Search response wasn’t helpful and that it was working to address it.
