Netflix reportedly preparing to cut about 5% of its workforce

Citing sources, Puck’s Matthew Belloni reported on October 9, 2026, that Netflix was preparing layoffs as part of a restructuring affecting about 5% of employees. Based on an estimated 17,000 workers worldwide, a 5% cut would mean about 850 jobs. Belloni said the cuts could be announced as early as the week of October 12. A Netflix representative declined to comment.
