Google Cloud London Outage Disrupts UK Banks and Critical Services

A user says a London data center lost grid power on October 20, both generator controllers failed and its batteries ran dry in about seven minutes, taking Google Cloud's europe-west2-b zone offline. The user says failover traffic hit healthy zones too and urges testing for zone loss under load. Another post says the outage also affected Lloyds and HSBC, and that EU and UK regulators are asking Google questions.
