Open sourced models shouldn’t be compared to cheap Chinese manufacturing (I.e autos). The difference is the USA is incapable of manufacturing cars, steel, household products, as cheaply as China… Meanwhile, US companies CAN and will create cheap open sourced models. Banning Chinese models, doesn’t prevent the inevitability of open-sourced usage!
@wolfejosh I thought the government trying to lock down AI and only let a few companies use it was why some VCs decided to support the Trump administration in the first place.
