    TLDR

Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta is opening the weights for Muse Glimmer, a 30B parameter dense model that runs locally. He added that weights for Muse Spark 1.2, the company's latest foundation model, will follow soon. Alexandr Wang, Chief AI Officer at Meta, posted similar details about the releases and noted the 30B model runs on a single consumer GPU. Multiple replies on X highlighted the Apache 2.0 license and availability through Ollama for local use on Apple Silicon.

Mark Zuckerberg@finkdToday we're also opening the weights for Muse Glimmer, a great 30B parameter dense model that can run locally. Soon we'll also release the weights for Muse Spark 1.2, our latest foundation model. Meta is a strong supporter of open source and I'm proud of these releases. Congrats to @alexandr_wang and the MSL team for all your great work on these models.57d
Alexandr Wang@alexandr_wangexcited to be releasing open weights for muse glimmer today, a 30b model that runs on a single consumer gpu, with open weights for a version of muse spark 1.2 coming soon. two very different models, both headed into people's hands, with more to come.57d

AI at Meta@AIatMetaIntroducing Muse Glimmer, an open-weight 30B-parameter model optimized for local, always-on agent workflows. Muse Glimmer delivers strong performance on key agentic use cases and benchmarks compared with leading models in its size category, and is designed to run entirely on consumer hardware like a Mac or PCs with performant GPUs. In keeping with our long tradition of sharing fundamental AI research, we’re releasing model weights under a permissive Apache 2.0 license. 🧵👇57d
SGLang@sgl_project@finkd SGLang is honored to power Muse Glimmer on day 0. Thank you Meta for releasing these weights to the community! Everyone should have access to superintelligence 🚀57d
Meta for Developers@MetaforDevsMeet Muse Glimmer: an open-weight model built for always-on local agents. 30B parameters, Apache 2.0 and tuned for complex multi-step work so it plans, calls tools, hits errors, retries, and sees the task through long-horizon loops. Muse Glimmer is designed to balance capability against the memory and compute constraints of local hardware. We couldn’t be more excited to get this in the hands of developers. Ben Burtenshaw@ben_burtenshawMeta is back with Muse Glimmer: a 30B open-source multimodal model built for local, agentic use. HF is shipping day-0 support and I built a few demos to see what it can do. First: we gave Glimmer tools and asked it to quantize itself.57d
LMSYS Org@lmsysorg@AIatMeta's Muse Glimmer (30B dense, open-weights) launches with SGLang day-0 support. We got ~230 tok/s on a single RTX 5090, with NVFP4 + DFlash on. It also works out of the box on @NVIDIAAIDev RTX Pro 6000, DGX Spark, and MLX for Mac. Speed and reliability have always been the blockers for a local agent. SGLang and Muse Glimmer make a local agent that's blazing fast, always on, and gets things done. Go build and run a local agent on your own machine!🚀57d
