WhatsApp rolls out new parental controls for teen accounts and Meta AI chats

WhatsApp is introducing new parental controls for teen accounts that let guardians manage who can add teens to groups, who can see their profile picture, whose Status updates teens can view and who can view theirs. TechCrunch reports parents can also set Meta AI content rules, choosing the default 13+ setting or a stricter Limited Content mode that turns off private-processing features like incognito chat and message summaries. WhatsApp says messages and calls will still be end-to-end encrypted even when those controls are enabled.
