today is unhinged codex feature request day. you know what to do
@pvncher @ajambrosino @davidlinclark I want subagent names to have different spawn rates. And shiny names get fast for free.
Mock suggestions included spitefully canceling other users' quota resets.

Positive users request spawn rates and shiny variants for Codex subagents as useful enhancements while negative users criticize bugs, message limits, and declining performance.

@ajambrosino The app on linux

@ajambrosino

@ajambrosino Would it be too unhinged of a 'Codex feature' request to want better triage of Codex related GitHub issues / bug reports? There seems to be a lot of good information that seems could be better de-duped automagically, verified, and used to improve the app/etc.

@ajambrosino I want to be able to assign specific model and reasoning levels to specific types of tasks, like extra high for debugging and medium or low for coordinating with subthreads

@trekedge @cansar yes please, so that Twitter asks me why we don’t support it in the app for 3 weeks

@ajambrosino Automation that you can't turn off that rewrites your frontend once a week to some new framework that it either found online or create on its own

@ajambrosino @cansar How about new slash commands in codex core without warning
On my birthday I should be able to cancel one person’s quota reset out of spite.

@ajambrosino I just want to be able to listen to the outputs like Claude code

@b_nnett oh f no

@ajambrosino @simpsoka I want a deep research mode but for coding, where you give it your detailed prompt and it goes and thinks and tests and looks at whatever your issue is for ages and fixes the issues and come back with a simple summary of what was done. let’s call it GPT 5.5 Deep

@dkundel only if it confusingly archives itself after so you question who made the change

@ajambrosino Any reason we can’t manually spawn a new thread in an already active worktree? We can start a new thread in a new worktree or fork into a new worktree but then have to get creative if you want a second thread in those worktrees.

Event triggers for automations ◕ω◕
imo Codex Automations should support event triggers and webhooks, not only scheduled polling: credit refresh, CI/PR events, connector events, file/log watchers, long-command completion, and remote-host availability ect.
Context Shelves So imagine you have Context visibility shelves for different level priorities; global, project wide, chat specific. The context counts towards chat history which has its pro's & cons, but is visible on each turn. Can be used with Library & automations. ie please augment your pinned hand off to your project shelf and the rolling screenshots ect. or change rolling screenshots to 15 long not counting screenshots marked as important. :3
Windows remote control parity let the Codex app on Windows control other connected hosts the way Mac can, including Mac hosts, Windows hosts, SSH projects, handoff, approvals, screenshots, terminal output, and Computer Use state. Right now Windows is a good host, but not yet a first-class controller.

@ajambrosino when a subagent completes its work, I want a goblin sprite to appear in my codex and say “and now my watch has ended” then slowly fade out with the sound effect of going to sleep for the night from Final Fantasy VI.

@ajambrosino I want more comprehensive pet integrations!
I want it to be able to move in and out of the layers of the page in codex, I want to see it grab a thread and throw it away when I delete a thread.
I want my pet to be able to interact with the visual elements of codex

@b_nnett @ajambrosino OCD final boss

@ajambrosino Banked reset expiration dates, pretty please

@ajambrosino i want buy 2 get 1 free subagents.
every 3rd subagent is on the house.
if i'm propping up the subagent economy, I want some kind of benefits.
