@ChristianLempaI’m bored of people praising Omarchy as the future of Linux... The problem isn’t that people are having fun with an opinionated Arch setup. Do that if you want. But Omarchy is not a new way computers work. It’s Arch, a tiling compositor, and someone else’s defaults with a famous name on the ISO. New shiny thing. Same story as always. And here's the thing—A desktop OS does not make you more productive. You can be excellent on Linux, macOS, or Windows. The desktop is not the skill! What actually moves you forward is learning how systems work — networking, automation, the boring parts that still break when the theme is gone. So try Omarchy if you have the time. Just don’t tell yourself you need this distro — or Linux — to be taken seriously.20d

Here’s two examples from leaders in the Linux world (and employees of Linux-y companies): System76’s Principal Engineer (maintainer of Pop!_OS), is boosting statements calling Omarchy Linux a “campaign to centralize power and influence [within Linux”, saying DHH is “the guy who thinks that brown people don’t belong in society [and] hires the guy who thinks trans people shouldn’t exist”. Red Hat’s Distinguished Engineer (former Fedora Project Leader) is boosting statements saying that “DHH is actively calling for the genocide of non-white people in Europe”. Mastodon is overflowing with this right now.20d
@dhhYikes, the clowns even got inside System76? Man. Clowns under every cover in this Linux bazaar! But I will agree with them on one thing: I'm very serious about carving out a spot within Linux that isn't controlled by or subject to their circus.20d
