Spotify reportedly targets early 2027 for AI remix and cover add-on

Spotify is reportedly negotiating licensing agreements with major record labels for a service that would let subscribers remix and cover existing songs. Artists would reportedly be able to opt in or out even if their labels sign deals. The company is also said to be developing a way to put fan-made remixes in playlists, count their streams toward the original songs in its charts and send royalties to the original artists.
