The companies will co-design a robotaxi-ready platform, but Bolt has not ordered vehicles and no deployment date is public.

TLDR

Lucid and Bolt are partnering on an autonomous vehicle platform intended to support at least 25,000 Bolt-operated vehicles across Europe. The proposed fleet would use Lucid’s upcoming midsize EV architecture and Nvidia Hyperion compute and sensing. The agreement remains preliminary: TechCrunch reports that Bolt has placed no vehicle order, no money has changed hands, the autonomous-driving software provider is unidentified and no public deployment schedule exists.

Lucid and European mobility company Bolt are planning an autonomous fleet built around Lucid’s next electric-vehicle platform. Bolt says the companies aim to deploy at least 25,000 vehicles across major European cities, with Bolt owning and operating the fleet.

The companies plan to work together from the product-development stage on a vehicle designed for autonomous-driving systems. It would use Lucid’s upcoming midsize EV architecture and Nvidia’s Hyperion compute and sensing platform. Bolt’s dedicated autonomous-driving unit will lead the work on its side.

The 25,000-vehicle figure is a target, not an order. TechCrunch reports that no money has changed hands, Bolt has not ordered any vehicles and the companies have not announced a deployment schedule. They also have not identified which company will provide the autonomous-driving software.

Timing depends in part on Lucid’s product roadmap. The first vehicle on its midsize platform has been delayed until the second half of 2027. Bolt says the partnership is one step toward its broader ambition of hosting 100,000 autonomous vehicles on its platform by 2035.

Lucid is pursuing a separate robotaxi program with Uber and autonomous-driving company Nuro based on its Gravity SUV. That program is expected to begin commercial service before the midsize Bolt vehicle is ready.

Markus Villig@villigmWe're partnering with Lucid Motors to design and deploy 25,000 autonomous vehicles across Europe. 🌍 Europe sets a higher bar than anywhere else, so we start at product development: co-designing the vehicle and software on NVIDIA Hyperion. Optimising for safety, speed of scaling and the lowest cost per km. Bolt will also own and run the fleet. More on that soon.20d
