@Miles_Brundage It's also true that their domestic compute has great and accelerating pace since export controls were tried. Very poor timing on that decision.

Reminder that it is simultaneously true that: - Chinese researchers and engineers are very talented - China has much less compute than the US - Chinese companies have vastly more (direct + indirect) compute access than they would have if we enforced export controls well
