Hacked cameras are becoming tools for wartime surveillance and targeting

The Wall Street Journal reports that a pro-Ukraine hacking group used a camera in Crimea to locate a Russian air base and shared the information with Ukrainian forces, which soon attacked it. Israel’s cyber directorate says Iran-linked groups breached more than 250 sensitive Israeli security cameras in 2026.
