New York Times and other newspapers sue Brave over alleged content scraping

The New York Times filed its suit in Manhattan federal court on November 2, alleging Brave scraped its articles for a search index and supplied content to AI companies including Anthropic and Perplexity. The suit also challenges Brave’s paywall blocker and its practice of blocking publishers’ ads while selling its own. The New York Daily News, Chicago Tribune and Orlando Sentinel filed a similar suit the same day. Brave had not responded to requests for comment.
