Samsung plans more distinct Galaxy S models as its phone division posts another quarterly loss

Android Authority reports Samsung’s mobile division posted a second consecutive quarterly operating loss. During its Q3 2026 earnings call, the company outlined more distinct identities for its next Galaxy S models, battery and processor upgrades, and thinner, lighter foldables. It expects fewer smartphone shipments in 2027 as higher component costs push prices up, and is researching Glass and TriFold form factors for that year.
