Anthropic manager drops coding interviews for his team

Anthropic engineering manager Felix Rieseberg says he dropped traditional coding interviews from his team's hiring in October because Claude is now better at the small challenges that once offered a weak hiring signal. He hasn't settled on a replacement interview but is scanning résumés and portfolios for small prototypes showing taste, empathy and principled thinking.
