Ashlee Vance claims the US government is targeting Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei with a negative briefing campaign over federal demands

None of this was some weeks long back and forth. I was at Anthropic's HQ on Friday reporting when this all unfolded. Dario is not at a wellness retreat. The Feds seemed to be scrambling to try and make an example of Anthropic again.

This is not technical. It's petty.

i'm old enough to remember when Dario told a US General to call him and they would work something out when asked about models being used in a thermonuclear war scenario.

I got more accomplished in those days than those wks.

Maybe one day? Anthropic is the most depressing thing ever. Amazing models ruined but the safety culture needs a sanity check
