Positive users praise the Codex desktop app for its simplicity and suggest features like slash commands, while negative users criticize the three-tab UI split and urge fixes or avoiding Claude integrations.
Really have to see many of the issues are already on the roadmap!
Many things are in motion and coordinating will take some time.
- identity - unification of plugins - projects - in thread ui
What are some features in cowork that you wish exited in codex? And vice versa?

@austinbv This should probs be a setting

@jxnlco codex is good, bring skills use in chatgpt like we have claude

@lostinlatencyX We’re working on this!

@jxnlco Cowork needs to scrap the UI and just clone Codex App. Why do I have Chat/Cowork/Code?

@jxnlco I'll tell what not to copy. The 3 tab interface (chat, work, code). I am praying this is not what ChatGPT superapp will be.

@jxnlco Bro make it so that I can connect two or more emails to the gmail connector please I beg

@jxnlco Oh thought of another one. Codex sandbox does not work with MCPs hosted in a tailnet, claude's does. We host a lot of MCPs and rather than dealing with oauth we just use a tailnet and their headers. Makes corporate MCP so easy but not possible in codex.

@literallyhimmmm Wait tell me more

@jxnlco bro - forget cowork, just add an option to make it talk like poke 🌴

@jxnlco Spell check

@jxnlco defaulting to "no project" probably the only thing.

@austinbv Heard similar things for general mcp and plugin hosting.
I see stuff on the roadmap

@JohnnyLitty2 @jxnlco Daamn Unc Johnny adapted af

@jxnlco @austinbv I also wish to be possible to start a chat with no project in a remote. For now, I have to have a home (~) project to do this.

@nvllskies @jxnlco you can do that just scroll way way way down

@jxnlco Well I’m not telling you, because you will use it against me and build it into Codex, making my time spent on other platforms not nearly as enjoyable. But, if I wanted to complain about something, it would be that the harness feels really slow and eats tokens faster than others.

@jxnlco this from Cowork

@austinbv @jxnlco Not really, the "Chats" section doesn't include remote chats. I can select a remote project but not just the remote without a project.

@techgirl1908 We will mog on tab bench
