This is the future that Satya, Karp, and Jensen have been speaking about. I expect a tidal wave of demand for open source AI to be on our doorstep after the 4th of July festivities are over. GPU rental rates are about to soar once again

@IsaacEntebi9 @theallinpod It will be a combination of both, but the OS models are going to grow a lot more than people think imo. This data concern is huge for big enterprise (which is where a lot of the spend is happening)

We will relearn the same lesson again and again, bigger and better base models are where demand accrues. I remember last year the psychosis around build your own harness etc. I understand this is different but I’m not particularly convinced, especially after having tried new gen models (fable)

@Midnight_Captl @theallinpod It’s funny they don’t mention meta in the convo, meta is in a literally perfect place to be the leading open source lab in the US, I imagine they could easily surpass nemotron models. But pivoting to oss could drive massive positive sentiment and lots of value for U.S.

Well, I definitely agree about the last piece, but Nvidia has a uniquely advantaged position in open source model development because of their ability to codesign. There’s a lot of details about that to go thru. Meta is great and I think will prosper, but Nvidia in os models will be 👑

If Nemotron takes off, every neocloud will be sold out past 2030.

The question is which one has the most to sell today and in the future? That's IREN.

Very bullish! More demand for compute,the buyers are going to broaden, direct enterprise spend is going to go up in a step function way (think Boeing going directly to Nebius instead of Boeing buys tokens from ChatGPT who goes to Nebius). I think the more diverse and vibrant and flourishing the ecosystem can be, the more durable the demand and the more durable the overall growth trajectory

The truth is, data pirating is why these models exist, and why China is competitive in the field.

These founders and investors should be looking at offensive cyber and attribution startups to assist the model makers in creating moat.

I do think so as well, this is not entirely bearish imo for the frontier labs, it’s a more interesting question of what the frontier at x point in time unlocks in tam as capabilities increase, while a lot of enterprise TAM gets eaten up by OS at the same time.

Although the ecosystem is more mature, glm 5.2 feels at times like the deepseek moment. And it’s not that deepseek wasn’t actually capable or important but we draw the wrong conclusions. Things are moving fast! Important to adjust one’s view as the field advances which is well mostly every week.
