I've gone through about 5 rounds of having my programming work automated since I started coding in assembly. Each one was fun and interesting and made me more valuable. AI coding seems like that too, so far.
I don't fully understand why programmers seem to be the ~only group of people not angry that their jobs are being automated.
A ton of programmers hate their jobs. 2 years ago I told my frontend SWE friend that the work he's doing would be fully automated in < 3 years. His response: "good, please automate my job. I hate my job"
