I can’t quite summarize how annoying this project was. In short, they got some land and immediately used all of it to build an enormous casino and gas station. This was happening (in the late 2010s) against a backdrop of being told that indigenous ways of knowing and being were superior re: conservation and land use https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilani_Casino_Resort
