Bitquery Finds Fake Addresses Clogging Bitcoin UTXO Set

Bitquery scan shows text outputs disguised as addresses remain in the live UTXO database.

CryptoSlate posted that Bitquery identified 96,231 text-encoded outputs disguised as Bitcoin addresses inside the UTXO set. These outputs leave about 3.2 BTC stuck because nodes must track them as spendable coins. The post notes that unlike OP_RETURN data, which stays in block history but drops from the UTXO set, the fake-address outputs continue to burden the database nodes use for coin tracking.
