OpenAI chief tells G20 ministers that nations rejecting AI will fall behind like those who rejected electricity.

Sam Altman spoke at the G20 innovation Ministerial conference in North Carolina alongside US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. He stated that a kid growing up today will never be smarter than AI. Altman compared AI to electricity during the industrial era and warned ministers that failing to adopt it would leave their countries behind. He added that much more capable models are coming soon and that the next generation will be sobering for everybody. Altman described the weight of responsibility ahead and said the team is sailing in unknown waters.
