@MikeIsaac wasn’t it recently reported that meta was seeking to launch an effectively society-degrading product but wanted to wait for a time when civil rights groups who would otherwise be noisy against it would be “distracted”? so yeah i’m not putting anything past this company atp
@MikeIsaac When was the last time anyone has found a Meta product "fun"? I say this as the owner of a Quest II and a general tech early adopter. AI has sucked any possible joy out of the Facebook feed, maybe the Instagram influencer economy but that is just kind of getting sad.
@MikeIsaac Here's my proposal: Every tech company needs an Chief Troll/Shitposter/Chaos Agent. They look at a feature and depending on the size of their evil grin, the feature is automatically sent back until they're not excited by it. How did anyone think this was a good idea
@MikeIsaac Even easier when one concurrent (the network we’re in) completely missed the mark less than a year ago. My guess: they knew it’ll create issues but couldn’t resist to be part of the AI conversation (aka there’s no such thing as bad press)
easy to see how “you can tag anyone’s likeness by mentioning them” might go over like a fart in a crowded room if you spent any time paying attention to the sora launch unforced error https://twitter.com/dylanbyers/status/2075708431072428311
Not commenting on the feature at all, but I found it funny that they said “missed the Mark” and now I wonder if the feature had been reviewed by the ceo https://twitter.com/dylanbyers/status/2075708431072428311
