Mike Solana proposed expanding the DMs to liking users.
Positive users hail X's rollout of Community Notes corrections via chat messages as an excellent improvement, while negative users call the system activist-controlled or insult Elon.
Elon Musk just gave a massive update on Community Notes
Users who interact with a misleading post that is later corrected by Community Notes will now receive the correction directly through X Chat
This is a huge upgrade
People who saw the original claim will now actually see the correction too
𝕏 is the platform where truth shines and this step takes it even closer to the truth
Users who interact with a misleading post that is subsequently corrected by @CommunityNotes will receive an 𝕏 Chat message of the CN to correct any misperception

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Someone tell Keir Starmer… worst offender

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Respectfully, this is a welcomed upgrade. But, an elephant in the room that must be acknowledged about community notes is that too many community noters consistently use the process to target specific conservative accounts. This ongoing issue needs to be addressed and resolved.

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Does this clip require a CN because i have 100’s of them?

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Yet I've had back-to-back 2 week reach restrictions for almost a year, with a few hours or a few days of somewhat normal reach in between --
Solely for criticizing Trump, Israel, and Kushner
@elonmusk @CommunityNotes elon, awesome. something else i've wanted for years: can the platform DM everyone who liked the initial post with the community note? this is one of the huge enduring problems of social media, incorrect information will often go wildly viral, and corrections are never seen.
Users who interact with a misleading post that is subsequently corrected by @CommunityNotes will receive an 𝕏 Chat message of the CN to correct any misperception

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Left has ruined your CN. Most are just butt-hurt replies

This is good
I think people whose posts are frequently community noted for being misleading should have a temporary label (can be represented with an icon) next to their display name that says the X user has made X number of misleading posts in X number of days.
The label appears/stays when a user is CN'd 3 times within 7 days (for misleading posts), and disappears when they no longer fall in the bucket.
@nikitabier This could even be amplified to say, if you get that label, you'll be demonized for a week.
For fairness, everyone gets a warning the first time.

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Please put an end to all of these fake quotes that are circulating on the timeline. Accounts who do this for engagement should be punished.

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes What happens if the CN gets removed?
I've often had politically motivated CNs, which were then removed (rightfully).
Another message?

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes This is great in theory, but since community notes are often dictated more by popularity than by truth, won’t this make it even MORE impossible for unpopular truths to gain traction on X?! 🤦♂️

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes ☝️Found one!

Community notes is fundamentally flawed.
Accepting third party tweets from random people as evidence to add a community note is just flat out stupid.
Why not make it fact based from credible sources?
Even if you are worried about bias being presented in secondary sources, we should still be able to present primary sources and research as a reason for adding a community note.

People who consistently post misleading information (or lies) should first be demonetized and then, if their behavior continues, they should be banned.
I'm so tired of seeing an X post and then having to spend 5 minutes to figure out if it's true.
I get that we all post things that are false. We get duped and believe something is true that isn't... I'm not saying go after those people... but for the people generating these false narratives constantly... get them the hell out of here.

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes What about those motherfuckers trying to steal our money, looking like you, ELON?
AND CALLING MY PHONE??????

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Lefties are abusing community notes now just to make points that aren’t factual corrections: we need the system fixed.

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes I’d rather have a toggle to just turn off community notes because it has become totally manipulated with false information, agendas, harassment and abuse.

@TheBlueWave2026 Asking Grok to fact-check Elon's post is beyond stupid/weird. You're definitely a Democrat.

@elonmusk @CommunityNotes Great idea!

This is assuming that Community notes are correct in themselves. I don't mind my fellow posters correcting me if I'm wrong, but I'm not crazy about Community notes because in the past it has seemed to be influenced by the numbers of people, rather than the truth of the matter. At the point in time where we can get honest truth without the influence of opinions pushing the narrative, I'd be for it. We're not there yet.
