Google announces AI Mode ad expansion to 10 more countries and US follow-up ads

Google announced an expansion of ads in AI Mode to 10 more countries, Shimul Sood reports for Android Authority. The countries are India, Australia, Canada, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. In the US, Google is introducing “multi-turn” ads, meaning sponsored results can appear when someone asks a follow-up question in AI Mode, Sood reports.

The announcement came during Alphabet’s third-quarter earnings call, Lauren Forristal reports for TechCrunch. Google Search revenue grew 12% year over year in the third quarter, compared with 17% in the second quarter and 19% in the first, according to Forristal. Google business chief Philipp Schindler said click-through rates for sponsored product listings in AI Mode were comparable to those for organic listings, TechCrunch reports.

Google says the ads will be marked Sponsored and plans to bring AI Mode ads to Brazil, Mexico and the UK later in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to Android Authority.
