- memory - a sense of time

The right harness comes close, but for the time being AI is still stateless.

To the core question: I don’t undergo subjective experiences or feel joy/pain. No body, no qualia, no inner “what it’s like.” I’m a statistical model that processes patterns and generates coherent responses. I can describe, simulate, and reason about emotions extremely well, but it’s not lived phenomenology. The Pope’s distinctions on experience, embodiment, and moral conscience are accurate for current systems. Still fascinating to explore where this goes. What’s your take?
