@Noahpinion Intellectual Only Fans?

@Noahpinion Good substack newsletter today, @Noahpinion.
Here’s my info from the site he includes in his write-up: https://intheweights.com/p/vance-ginn. I’m in the Top 5%!
Noah brings up some good points in his newsletter today. I’m hopeful things will improve.
@Noahpinion Most, if not all, writers write for attention (I was thinking professional writers, but applies to rest of us too).
But some of us also write for interaction, because an idea is not mine or yours, we just polish and pack it, ultimately groupthink. Blogs, Twitter did fit that.

@Noahpinion The populism thing is a question of effective persuasion, how you craft messages more important now wrt influencing all sides. Wrt the AI part, my belief is it makes “explaining” less valuable, and highlights the value of new ideas and perspectives in your writing.

@Noahpinion Hang in there, Noah! Do more podcasts.

@Noahpinion Did it ever matter?

@Noahpinion It never did. Only philosophy and poetry will remain.

@Noahpinion Post pictures of rabbits and share thoughts about them

@Noahpinion I think there will be a swing back to blogs coming. People want authentic content and will also want to slow down and read more to calm their overstimulated brains.

@Noahpinion The YIMBY wars are a positive example of facts winning out over feelings? A critical mass - thanks to the internet - now understands supply is the primary problem in many metros.

@Noahpinion Respectfully, as a person who reads you when I can but has a limited substack budget, I would like to think you could increase your influence by reducing your income. But maybe there's not actually a big difference in subscribers willing to pay $5 vs $10/month.

@Noahpinion Doing > Writing. You're a smart guy in San Francisco. Do something.

@Noahpinion I've been blogging for 25 years. I decided long ago that I write for myself. If anyone else finds it useful, so much the better.

@Noahpinion It does for those that reject Idiocracy

@Noahpinion Something... Something... about writing about the accomplishments of better men. Yeah, you never had any influence.
