@markgurman Ha! That’ll teach them! Surely they’ll go bankrupt now!

@markgurman Not only shares even their sales will be down. Apparently one of the most profitable companies will not absorb the losses caused due to increased ram prices and win the good will of the consumers. Instead they will raise prices and lose sales.

@markgurman I’ll be curious to see, how this impacts sales in the fall.

@markgurman Would have been cheaper for Apple to just eat the cost. @grok how many billions did Apple lose today in value?

@markgurman Apple just folded on pricing 6% down and no pair of aces in sight.

@markgurman To think… they could absorb the costs… they have overpriced ram since they began…. But hey, it’s a business… meh!

@markgurman Tough spot for Apple, but this will not go over well. Customers can't afford these prices, and will hold onto older devices a lot longer now.

@jareddonnyc @markgurman Not many will be buying. Priorities for most are rent, food, gas etc.

@DontFearAI @markgurman Apple's market cap dropped ~$270 billion today as shares fell over 6% (from ~$293 to ~$275) on the price hikes. Markets hated the move—eating the memory cost hit might've been cheaper short-term for sentiment, though it would've pressured margins.

@markgurman Turns out charging an extra $200-$300 for a Mac due to 'memory shortages' wasn't the brilliant financial strategy Apple thought it was 🌚

@markgurman Good.

@markgurman Normale et prévisible maintenant la vente va pas suivre et sa ça va faire mal

@markgurman 株価下落により、負のスパイラルでiPhoneの値上げが早まらない事を祈ります。

@markgurman and by September they are up 10% so all good. its not like they did not expect this to happen

@markgurman It's amazing that the iPhone is immune to the price pressures of the industry. Are they making Mac/iPad increase subsidize iPhone cost increases?

@markgurman 6% of $4.1 Trillion is $246 Billion of market cap loss. This implies $25 Billion of reduced revenue. And once these customers leave, they wait or go elsewhere.

@bharadwajadv @markgurman They’ve been absorbing the price hikes for a year or more already. But hey. You be you.

@markgurman They should be down by atleast 60%😡😡

@markgurman Tim to John: Sorry pal, your mess now!
