Amazon plans wider rollout of delivery smart glasses that reportedly photograph surroundings almost constantly

Amazon is planning a broader rollout of smart glasses for delivery drivers that, according to The Verge’s summary of Bloomberg’s reporting, can capture several thousand images during a typical shift, including views of people and private property. Amazon says the images are meant to improve deliveries, not surveillance, and says people and license plates will be blurred before human review. The company reportedly aims to deploy 20,000 more pairs by the end of 2027 after pilot users completed more than 275,000 deliveries. Bloomberg also reported that images could be produced with a warrant, while Amazon did not say how long it would keep them.
