We are unifying profile management in Hermes Agent starting today.

Now the dashboard allows switching management to any of your agent profiles on the machine. No more running multiple dashboards to manage each profile!

Also soon, you will only need one gateway to access all of your agents. This will enable us to progress toward full and true isolated multi-tenant solutions in the future.

Many users are enthusiastic about the Hermes unified dashboard for multi-agent profiles because it simplifies managing multiple agents, feels overdue, and is described as user-friendly.

Useful guide!

how to build agent profiles in Hermes Agent

what is a profile? its essentially a dedicated agent with its own configuration, skills, memory and model

if you have multiple agent profiles they can start to work together. thats how you create an agent company

you can manage these agents one to one, via an orchestrator agent or directly via a Kanban board

I do a mix of all of the above in my day to day. I work with the orchestrator to access my company brain, delegate work to other agents, and prototype new workflows

I talk directly to specialist agent profiles to create agents that are dedicated towards one vertical of work. they have unique skills and tools to accomplish the goals I throw at them

you have two choices in creating a new agent profile. you can either chat to your default agent and go back and forth creating the profile, or now Nous released a way in the Hermes dashboard where you can set up profiles and everything that goes with it

a bonus 3rd way is to use my agent control room (find it in the link below)

If you `hermes update`, you will now see a dropdown in the top left of your dashboard, allowing you to select the profile you want to manage!

So cool! 🙏 Already using the supervised multi-profile gateways which just started working (i was manually running gateways with -p before).

Is a central webhook entrypoint part of that 'single gateway' plan too? So one endpoint with /profile/[id] which we hacked using k8s/ingress

@Teknium what is the advantage of single gateway vs multi gateway and is there an option to keep multi gateway if there are certain benefits?

not sure to pros/cons of each but I remember reading in discord how the multi gateway design was intentional for segregation

@MissStopLoss You have to start the gateway for your profile

`profile-name gateway start`

@Lemz_42 We realized we weren't doing actual isolation between profiles, and multiple gateways was part of trying to. Since we aren't in any real form, it doesn't make sense to

@Teknium @MissStopLoss Another suggestion until you change hopfully to a system with one gateway and multiple agent processes, why don´t the restart does an --all by default? it should restart all duplicated gateways no?

Yes man that is what I want, and you have to move the default profile into /profiles/ like everything else, also move the config of the agents to the profiles folder, basically the channel config, all model config should be kept in the main gateway that has to control the agent processes with health cheacks and manage the lifecycle

makes sense, ty for the explanation

each gateway wasnt too heavy but I guess if you had a fleet of agents it stacks up quick

I'm assuming each subsequent agent would be just adding incremental memory usage in a single gateway running so you could have a lot more agents than what you're capped at today

@Teknium @grok will this repo be incompatible/redundant with Hermes's new dashboard for agent profile control, or should Hermes integrate this into the dashboard?
