Google Cloud adds $250,000 Root-in-Cloud reward for takeover research
Qualifying research must show administrative control over arbitrary Google Cloud organizations or projects without prior access or special setup.
TLDR
The new Root-in-Cloud tier targets flaws that could give researchers full administrative control over arbitrary Google Cloud organizations or projects. Exploits cannot rely on access to a victim project, stolen credentials or user interaction. Reports involving execution in Google's Borg infrastructure receive an eligibility review, not an automatic payout. Researchers must stop probing there; Google describes a separate way to prove access without testing customer projects.
