The reactions to this have been overwhelmingly negative--calling it socialism, communism or what have you. But I think the U.S. govt joining in on Intel as an activist investor (investing in the area by equity, and not by subsidies) is welcome given the situation in the area.
Trump: "Intel came in. They had a problem. I said, 'I can solve your problem, but I want 10% of the company' ... somebody said that's not very American. I said, 'No, I think it's very American, actually.' And I've done that with other deals."
