Indian edtech startup Arivihan has raised a $10.2 million Series A round, Inc42 reported, as investors continue backing companies pitching AI-driven learning tools.

The round was co-led by Accel and Prosus Ventures. Inc42 reported that the two firms invested $10 million combined, with the remaining $200,000 coming from angel investors associated with GSF: Dinesh Chandra Agrawal, Dinesh Gulati and Rajesh Sawhney.

Arivihan said it plans to use the new capital to expand its footprint across India, launch offerings for CBSE students, and strengthen its AI and vernacular-language capabilities, per Inc42. The company also said it wants to scale performance marketing and bolster on-ground distribution.

An AI tutoring pitch aimed beyond big cities

Founded in 2022 by IIT Roorkee alumni Ritesh Singh Chandel, Sonu Kumar and Rushabh Kothari, Arivihan is based in Indore, Inc42 wrote. The startup says it offers a fully automated AI tutoring platform for school students, including interactive video lectures, doubt resolution and tailored study plans without human teachers.

Inc42 reported that Arivihan currently serves state board, CBSE and NEET aspirants, with a focus on Class 12 students in tier-II and tier-III cities and rural areas. The company claims students from tier-III cities and rural areas make up 80% of its subscriber base.

More than $15 million raised so far

With the new financing, Arivihan has raised more than $15 million to date, according to Inc42. The outlet reported that the company previously raised $4.2 million in a pre-Series A round last year and had earlier received seed backing through Accel’s Atoms accelerator program.

The funding arrives as AI has become a fresh angle for India’s edtech sector, which has spent the past few years grappling with a tougher funding environment and slower growth.
