a california nonprofit, staffed by los angeles “equity coordinators,” is trying to kill a chip fab in new york state
A Los Angeles nonprofit has joined local Clay residents in filing an eleventh-hour lawsuit challenging the environmental approvals for Micron's planned semiconductor campus in upstate New York, arguing that reviews were rushed and failed to fully address community impacts or job commitments even as construction preparations advanced.
Concerning.
a california nonprofit, staffed by los angeles “equity coordinators,” is trying to kill a chip fab in new york state
The suit spotlights how an organization headquartered far from the project site can insert itself into state permitting fights, raising questions about whether external advocates are shaping outcomes for taxpayer-backed manufacturing investments.
Filed the same day Micron marked the start of its first phase, the action leaves unclear how much further delay or added conditions might follow for a project already years into reviews and pitched as a major jobs driver.
Many users angrily opposed the California nonprofit blocking a chip fab in New York, accusing it of exporting jobs, undermining American dynamism, and acting like traitors or communists.

@pmarca You don't hate communists enough
Hard to stomp them down when they are willing to play dirty

@pmarca Make an example of them.

@pmarca sounds like europe!

@pmarca Is it the Micron fab in Syracuse? They tried that in Manassas dragging out that MU fab 20 years ago. At least the Boise fab is builing like crazy, drove by it last fall….yuge! That campus is expolding in size. The main fab building arequadrupling in size.

@pmarca The tech world needs to be way more front-footed in promoting the AI infrastructure. Can’t just rely on whizbang chatbots.

@pmarca China front? Homegrown communists?
OTOH ain't it grand to see your mortal enemies line up on the wrong side of every single issue, straight royal flush style?

@pmarca What, you mean LA equity coordinators aren't how you get more chip fabs?

@pmarca Killing a fab won't achieve equity, it'll just export jobs overseas.

@pmarca Sério? Então esses "coordinadores de equidade" estão numa missão para sabotar fábricas inteiras por causa da justiça social, né? 😬 Que drama!

@pmarca who are they advocating for? Calif. or some donator that has a alt plan?

@pmarca China is investing heavily in media to carry out cognitive warfare against the U.S., aiming to destroy America and capitalism. We will never give in.

@pmarca Idaho will take it

@pmarca California hates American Dynamism

@pmarca NY has made it impossible to get this build going! 😡😡😡

@pmarca Modern-day Luddites

@pmarca The irony of exporting our industrial base to save the planet while killing local production is peak comedy.

@pmarca The h1b is more concerning
