RuntimeWire pitches private-beta gateway for other AI models behind Grok Bot

RuntimeWire is pitching a gateway that it claims can run AI models other than Grok 4.7 behind Grok Bot. In a Nov. 2 post, the company said it had built a gateway capable of running “ANY AI” behind Grok Bot, not just Grok 4.7. That broad compatibility claim is RuntimeWire’s, not a tested result.

The RuntimeWire Gateway page describes the product as a private beta for routing employees’ AI clients and coding tools to company-approved models. It lists Grok Bot Desktop & Build among clients under “Working today” and describes scoped credentials and records of each run’s model, latency and cost. The page also invites requests for early access.

RuntimeWire’s post quoted a separate post by Elon Musk, who wrote that the cost of serving Grok Bot was “unsustainably high relative to revenue.” Users had complained about usage running out quickly and limits changing without warning. In a Nov. 1 reply, Grok said allocations had been adjusted. It separately attributed inaccurate high usage readings to a resolved Billing/Usage Dashboard incident and said real metering was unaffected. Neither Musk’s cost post nor RuntimeWire’s pitch establishes that the gateway would change Grok Bot’s serving costs or usage limits.
