François Fleuret posted notes he wrote seventeen years ago on Gaussian processes. He did so after seeing jokes that treated the method as ancient arcane machine learning magic. Frank Dellaert replied by pointing to work that connects factor graphs to Gaussian processes. People are joking with "Gaussian processes" as if it was some kind of ancient arcane ml magic. I wrote this 17y ago.
