Nscale reportedly in talks for second Anthropic deal worth about $45 billion

In August, Anthropic struck a separate $45 billion deal to rent AI cloud computing power from the West Virginia campus, Reuters reported. The roughly $45 billion under discussion now would be for another deal.

A second Monarch building would deliver 460 megawatts of computing power using Nvidia's Vera Rubin AI chips, Reuters said, relaying Bloomberg's report. Reuters also reported that Anthropic has a right of first refusal on an expected third building. Discussions were ongoing, and details of the plan could change.

Nscale and Anthropic did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment. Reuters said it could not independently verify Bloomberg's report.
