Fake HBO Max ads on Reddit reportedly led to a ClickFix malware trap

SecurityWeek says the ads led to a page designed to trick macOS and Windows users into installing malware.

SecurityWeek reports that a hacked HBO Max Reddit account was used to deliver malware through ClickFix, with ads leading to a page designed to trick users into installing it. HotHardware describes ClickFix as an old exploit still fooling new users and reports that it uses CAPTCHA prompts to infect PCs and Macs.
