Thinking Machines Builds Customizable AI To Extend Human Judgment
The lab's new credo argues for AI people can shape, not systems built to crowd them out.
Thinking Machines has published a new credo, echoed by co-founder John Schulman, arguing that AI should be more customizable, more open to research, and more focused on helping humans work alongside increasingly autonomous systems. The company says it wants to build AI that people and organizations can shape and make their own, a position it also lays out in "The Future Worth Building Is Human". So far, the public case rests on the company's own writing and posts.
