Sideload Launcher for Android TV gets a version 2.0 redesign after eight years

Android Authority reports that Sideload Launcher is being updated for the first time in eight years, with version 2.0 bringing a redesigned interface and more ways to organize apps on Android TV and Google TV. The launcher is meant to surface all installed apps, including sideloaded titles and apps originally built for phones and tablets. Android Authority says the update adds recently opened and favorites rows, filters for app source and target device, adjustable icon shapes and column counts, and support for setting it as the default launcher on TVs that allow that. The report also says the app remains free of ads or tracking and works without an internet connection, while the developer claims it does this without permissions or tracking.
