Korean Loitering Munitions Crash Into Sea Seconds After Launch
Showcase of homegrown drone technology failed during sea trial off Busan coast.
TLDR
The Korea JoongAng Daily reported that two loitering munitions plunged into the sea off the coast of Busan seconds after launch on Tuesday. The event was intended as a showcase of Korea's homegrown drone technology. Korea's defense agency stated that a launcher door defect caused the Korean-built loitering munition to crash during the sea trial rather than any issue with the aircraft itself. The article notes the drone costs far more than a Shahed. The tweet from the outlet framed the outcome as an embarrassing flop for the demonstration.
