Real Madrid reportedly close to signing Manchester United's 16-year-old JJ Gabriel

On Nov. 4, Sky Sports News reported a verbal agreement between Real Madrid and 16-year-old JJ Gabriel over a potential move. The Athletic reported that Gabriel is expected to join Madrid from Manchester United in January. It described the deal as very advanced but not final, and subject to FIFA regulations on transfers of minors.

David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that Gabriel, an attacker, chose Madrid despite interest from PSG, Barcelona and Bayern Munich and United’s efforts to keep him. Ornstein said Gabriel is set to join on a long-term contract, subject to FIFA regulations.
