ESPN, Duke and Army honor Chris Spatola before season opener
Duke held a moment of silence, and players and coaches from both teams wore warm-up shirts bearing Spatola's initials.
TLDR
Spatola, who died unexpectedly on September 21 at age 47, was a four-year starter at Army and later served in the U.S. Army. He coached at Duke during its 2010 championship season and became a college basketball analyst for ESPN, which presented a tribute before Duke played Army on November 2.
