Zane Smith reportedly did not appeal $50,000 fine for postrace contact with Carson Hocevar

Bob Pockrass reported on October 23 that the appeal deadline had passed and Zane Smith had not filed an appeal of his $50,000 fine for running into Carson Hocevar after the race at Phoenix. Kelly Crandall said Hocevar hadn't expected the hard hit and later described the situation between them as “one-sided.”
