TLDR

Officer Tatum reports three friends of Nolan Wells sued Terrell Owens for defamation and false light over his September 26 post urging their arrest. Their lawyers allege the post falsely implicated them in Wells’ death and cite an earlier grand jury finding of “no credible evidence” of related criminal conduct by anyone on the three boats. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Brandon Tatum@TheOfficerTatum🚨BREAKING: In an Officer Tatum exclusive, attorneys @mrcoxie and @EdPaltzik , representing Nolan Wells’ friends Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour, have officially filed a lawsuit against former NFL player Terrell Owens. The lawsuit centers on Owens’ September 26 post calling for the three friends to be arrested “IMMEDIATELY!! LIKE YESTERDAY!!” while sharing a video that accused them of being involved in Nolan’s death and tampering with his phone. The complaint alleges Owens’ post falsely portrayed Warren, Jax, and Morgan as criminals involved in murder, a cover-up, and evidence tampering. Their attorneys point to the grand jury’s unanimous No True Bill, which came before Owens’ post, and its finding that there was “no credible evidence” that anyone traveling on the three boats engaged in criminal conduct related to Nolan’s death. The complaint also states that GPS data and security footage supported the passengers’ accounts and that those individuals cooperated fully with investigators. The lawsuit brings claims for defamation per se and false light invasion of privacy and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, with the amount to be determined at trial. And when I spoke with their lawyers after the filing, they had a simple message for T.O. “Trial Time, TO.”9h
